The job requires excellent people skills and the ability to take and record critical measurements and data.
The optical team member is also responsible for learning about new products, managing inventory, and ensuring quality.
The ability to listen well and to explain complex information to people is critical.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, patient service oriented, and motivated to grow the practice.
Applicants should be comfortable offering patients the best in products and eyewear, as well as having leadership qualities.
The right candidate must be able to self-manage, be resourceful and dependable.
Must be able to work closely with patients in a friendly, professional, and expedient manner and provide the highest customer service.
Duties:
Provides eyeglasses and contact lenses by filling written optical prescriptions; determining client's current prescription.
Being able to identify a patient's needs and recommending specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames.
Helps clients select frames by offering commentary on styles, colors, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
Ensures that eyeglasses fit customer by adjusting frames.
Educates customers by offering instructions in eyeglass and contact lens care and use.
Sells optical goods by displaying and promoting sunglasses and optical supplies.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Enhances optical center reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Assist with filing insurance claims.
Review Physician's prescriptions and orders based on medical charts.
Operate manual lensometer and other tools to achieve proper fittings for patients.
Manage inventory of frames and contact lenses to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product variety.
Communicate with physician with questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues.
Occasional technician responsibilities.
Must have:
Excellent customer service and sales skills Preferred:
